The conception of Nueva Vida (new life), 4-in-1 crib and changing table set, is in- novative and designed with a child and its parentals or guardians in mind.

 

The psychological aspect of the design closely assimilates the comforting feeling newborns get when their mothers embrace them. Studies show that being wrapped and crad- dled in their mother’s arms reflects safety, warmth, care, and love. This consider- ation translates in the design through the closed and compressed look achieved through thick and solid pieces. The constrasting combination of the natural materi- als and finishes, wood and specific metals, gives it a radiating and unique feel. Hinting at simplicity and practiality, Nueva Vida, is inspired by an Industrial style. The emphaisis of the design is focused on the different finish options in textures and materials rather than added ornament or extravagant forms.

 

In addition to the crib’s ability to transform through the child’s infancy, the changing table transitions with it. The changing table is nested in the first drawer, having easy accessibility through the top. Its capability of opening and closing its top piece allows for easy access to the changing table or future drawer. The top will need to entail a “smart” mechanisim that will allow for it to flip open and recess down into the cut-opening in the back part of the dresser. This function facilitates parental or guardian care for the infant, in addition to considering aestheics and visual apperance.

 

Nueva Vida is a unisex design made to fit simplistic and modern nurseries. Warm and embracing, this crib and changing table set meet all safety and code regulations.
